What IEP Amigo is — and is not

IEP Amigo is a self-help educational tool. It reads the document you upload and produces plain-language explanations, flags based on published federal and state education rules, and draft letters you can edit and send yourself.

IEP Amigo is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or representation, and does not appear in disputes, mediations, or due-process hearings. Our analyses are educational information about how published rules generally work — they are not advice about what you should do in your specific legal situation.

Education law changes and every situation is different. For legal advice, consult a licensed attorney in your state; for advocacy, consider a qualified special-education advocate. Nothing in this service should delay you from seeking professional help when your child needs it.

Who may use the service

You must be at least 18 and a parent, legal guardian, or an adult authorized to handle the documents you upload. By uploading a document you confirm you have the right to do so.

Your account

Sign-in is by email link; keep access to your email account secure, since anyone with your sign-in link can access your account. Tell us at support@iepamigo.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Your documents and our analyses

Your documents remain yours. You grant us a limited license to store and process them solely to provide the service to you — nothing more.

Our analyses are generated with the help of automated AI systems checking your document against a maintained knowledge base of federal and state rules, with citations. This is educational information, not legal advice: automated analysis can make mistakes, it can miss issues, misread poor scans, or flag something that has an explanation elsewhere in your paperwork. Always read the quoted text and citations we show, and verify anything that matters with your child's school or IEP team — and with an attorney or advocate where the stakes are high — before acting on it.

The letters we generate are drafts for you to review, edit, and send in your own name. You are responsible for what you send.

Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record — your purchase contract for payment processing is with Paddle, and your receipt will show them. Prices are shown before you pay; the one-time review is a single payment with no subscription attached.

Refunds: if you're not happy with a full review, tell us within 7 days of purchase and we will refund it — no questions asked. Your free scan stays free either way.

Subscription plans (school-year tracking, family plan), where offered, state their renewal terms at purchase and can be canceled any time, effective at the end of the paid period.

Fair use

Don't upload documents you have no right to, don't attempt to breach the service's security or other families' data, don't use the service to harass anyone, and don't resell our analyses as your own service. We may suspend accounts that do.

Availability and disclaimers

We work hard to keep the service accurate and available, but it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that analyses are error-free or that the service will be uninterrupted.

Rules cited in analyses are maintained with care and versioned, but regulations change; the version of our knowledge base used for your review is recorded on it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including outcomes of meetings, evaluations, or proceedings involving your child's school.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations; where the law gives you rights that cannot be waived, those rights are unaffected.

Ending things

You can stop using the service and delete your data at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end accounts that violate these terms; if we discontinue the service, we will give you reasonable notice to export your data.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, where AIDUKAAN SOFTWARE (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED is registered. If you are a consumer in the United States, mandatory consumer protection laws of your state of residence remain unaffected by this choice.

Dispute resolution and venue (placeholder — under legal review)

We intend for this section to name a specific arbitration process and venue for disputes that can't be resolved informally, and we'd rather ship that language once counsel has reviewed it than guess. Nothing in these terms currently requires arbitration or picks a venue — until this section is filled in and its update date changes, you keep whatever rights to sue in court you'd otherwise have.

If a dispute comes up before this section is finalized, email support@iepamigo.com first — most things are solvable without lawyers on either side.

Changes to these terms

If we materially change these terms, we will update the date above and notify account holders by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
