Why this exists

Built by a parent who sat at that kitchen table too.

IEP Amigo started the night I photographed a 30-page IEP at 11pm and realized I couldn't tell whether it was good or bad — in either of my languages.

Advocates charge $150–300 an hour. Most families I know can't pay that, and shouldn't have to just to understand a document about their own child. So this tool does the understanding part — plainly, bilingually, for the price of a school supply run.

It will never give you legal advice, and it will never upsell you to a human. It gives you the document, decoded, and the words to act on it.

You control what leaves your device

Our redaction step scans your document in your browser and covers any names or dates of birth it finds, before upload. If it finds nothing — or you choose to keep something — you see exactly what's about to upload and confirm it yourself. We never upload silently, and detected text never reaches our servers.

US-only storage, by commitment not default

Documents live in US-region servers — a deliberate configuration choice we keep verified through our health checks and ops runbook, not just a vendor default — encrypted in transit and at rest. Every analysis also records which rules version it applied, so a review can always be audited.

Deletion is real

One click purges your documents and everything derived from them — immediately, with no 30-day retention trick. We log the purge so you can hold us to it.

Not a law firm — on purpose

IEP Amigo provides educational information, not legal advice or representation. If your situation needs an attorney or advocate, we say so plainly — and we never take a referral fee.
